When will the school open?
The school is currently scheduled to open September 2025.
What grades will the school open with?
The opening grade structure will be grade 7-10, with grade 11 and then grade 12 added in the subsequent years.
Is there a daycare attached to the school?
Yes. There will be two child care rooms with 39 licensed child care spaces.
Will my child have to walk or will there be a yellow bus or dedicated OC bus?
Families will be notified about bus eligibility closer to the school opening date through OSTA. Note: there will be a parking lot at the south end of the school property off Spratt Rd and there are planned pedestrian access points from Cambie Rd and Carnelian Crescent.
What changes will happen at the local elementary schools?
- Steve MacLean and Vimy Ridge will both become K-6 schools when the high school opens. - - Grade 7 & 8 students will attend the new high school.
- Students that currently attend Farley Mowat and live south of Earl Armstrong will be redirected to Steve MacLean.
- Students that currently live in Boothfield area and attend Vimy Ridge will be redirected to Steve MacLean (SMPS map)
- Kars on the Rideau 7 & 8 ENG and EFI students that live within the boundary for the new high school will be redirected to the new high school.
